The literacy teacher plans and delivers in-person instruction in literacy for 90 second grade scholars. The literacy teacher will also collaboratively plan for writing instruction with a master literacy co-teacher. The teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction, and monitoring scholar progress to determine instructional needs. The teacher reviews scholar progress and changes instruction to ensure high-progress learning for every child. The teacher is responsible for establishing a strong classroom culture in collaboration with the members of the grade level team. In addition, the teacher will be required to complete all other professional responsibilities to ensure the success of scholars and Moving Everest Charter School. The literacy teacher should be certified in the state of Illinois and be able to demonstrate a track record of success in the classroom.
