The difference between Moving Everest Charter School and the typical student experience in a Chicago public school is driven by the three pillars of our school design.

  • a strong, personalized student learning environment
  • a focus on developing student character
  • a valuable partnership with a highly effective after-school provider.

Students in the Austin neighborhood face numerous challenges and barriers to learning that many other students do not face. As evidenced elsewhere, these difficulties are mountainous and because of their magnitude, we believe that a stand-alone educational solution is not sufficient to prepare them for success in college and in life. That is why CEP has chosen to partner with By The Hand. This free partnership that is offered to parents, provides access to a high performing after-school program that has been active in serving our target community for over seven years. They will work collaboratively with CEP to promote academic excellence while nurturing the whole child; as they have done for thousands of kids, in some of Chicago’s most challenging neighborhoods. Together, CEP and BTH will offer parents a personalized student experience that provides students with a comprehensive continuum of services from 7:30am – 6:30pm and establishes a program that meets students’ academic, social, emotional, and physical needs.
